Letterboxed DVD available from Sinister Cinema

Sinister Cinema has CALTIKI available in its original, widescreen format (credits in Italian, dialogue still in English). This print also has the complete, often-edited Caltiki-eats-Max sequence, uncut -- in fact it's longer and more gruesome than I remember it, and now wonder whether I'd ever seen that entire scene unedited! Sound and picture quality are good. Price is $16.95 plus s&h, but they have frequent sales where you could get it for $10 or less.

SinCin may also still have the non-letterboxed version they first came out with over a year ago, which cuts the "details" of Max's demise, and if I recall the credits on that print are in English (perhaps this was the original US release?). So when ordering, be sure it's the widescreen version you buy.

I got me BOTH versions in my DVD-R collection. Purchased em during the Annual $98.00 Special Sale promotions in 2006 & 2007. Great deal!!

Thats just a rip of the Italian PAL DVD, Sinister Cinema are bootleggers. If you really care you should get the real thing. You can find it at

Yeah, I checked it out on that website but they only got an overpriced Region 2 PAL DVD version of it. Too bad my equipment won't play it. Guess I'll just settle for the Sinister version & some microwave popcorn! :D

You know u31510, I have this mental image of you walking around like a character from a Daffy Duck cartoon with a huge piece of wax paper wrapped around your head with the word SUCKER on it. You paid $100 for about twenty bucks worth of crummy bootlegs, since they aren't worth any more than the media they are burnt on plus the price of the keepcase boxes.. You like getting ripped off, don't you.

It's also interesting that one would refer to themselves as a "fan" of the movie and then regard $20 for an actual studio authorized authentic DVD who's sales will enrich the rights holders of it to be "overpriced", and go out of their way to brag about purchasing a ripoff bootleg made by a company who only stays in business because lazy idiots like yourself who think culture is disposable buy their garbage rather than equipping themselves with a region free player and getting the real studio-authorized thing. Way to go, *beep*

Keep supporting piracy, that's a great way to ensure that the movie will never get a Region 1 pressing: You get to enjoy your cheap ripoff copy but everyone else is *beep* out of luck.

First of all you cretin you don't know anything about me so who are you to judge me and how I spend my money on movies or my choice in video equipment. Why don't you go bitch & complain like a wuss to the people who made all those Region 1,2,3 rules or standards nonsense. Hell, I just like to enjoy good old movies so don't take it out on me! Second of all Sinister is a great little company makes a few bucks by giving the people what they want. Third, I would be one of the first people out there to buy a good factory DVD region-1 version of "Caltiki" but none of them studios have offered it yet. What the hell am I supposed to do in the meantime? Go without just to make jackasses like you happy? F-off! Hell, I got both versions of rare movies in my collection some even from The Criterion Collection too! But if I can find a good bargain in a DVD or anything else for that matter I'll take advantage of it every time. Fourth, by paying full price for some "authorized/authentic" copy the only thing you'll be enriching is just some big corporation's profits and not the real artists. If ya wanna see a sucker just look in the mirror! Fifth, I got a mental image of you that I can't mention cause it will nauseate every decent person who posts here so crawl back in that hole you came from!
