Who dubbed Dr. John Fielding?

Does anybody know who dubbed the voice of Dr. John Fielding? The voice sounds familiar to me.

I, too, found the voice to be quite familiar and it finally clicked: It was the actor whom you may have seen play Kurt, the lab assistant, in that immortal classic schlock-fest, "The Brain That Wouldn't Die", from 1962. It was lambasted royally by MST3K and had "Jan in the pan", a monster in the closet, totally prurient subject matter, and other such fun. The actor's name is Anthony La Penna, and he's still alive and kicking today in his late 90's! He also went by the name Leslie Daniels, and has done a ton of dubbing work over the years. His IMDB listing is pretty long (that's where I verified my hunch), and I'm sure you'll find something else he may have been in to remind you of that voice of his.

Thanks. I think you're right. The voice of Anthony La Penna in The Brain That Wouldn't Die does sound right.

I think La Penna was quite an actor. He and the "Jan in the Pan" actress do most of the acting in that film. The male lead was mainly chosen because he was good looking enough to be believable for picking up the attractive young women to supply a body for "Jan in the Pan." The chemistry between La Penna and "Jan" is really creepy. That film is actually quite a shocker.

There is still a mystery about the Dr. John Fielding character in Caltiki. If you watch it in Italian (also available on Youtube), he speaks Italian with no accent. I looked up to see if the actor, John Merivale, could've been of Italian descent and found no evidence of that. So I'm guessing he was dubbed in Italian, too. I couldn't find anything on Youtube with his real voice. I haven't seen the other films he's known for.

One thing you'll notice from La Penna's IMDb page is that he dubbed mostly (or entirely?) Italian films. So I'm guessing it helps to be a dubber if you speak the original language of the film. Maybe he's the one who actually supplied the translation.
