Censored Criterion DVD

I saw The Bridge at the Fox Anaheim in 1963 (I was 10). The scene where Walter goes downstairs into the girls locker room, he follows the girls` gym teacher and catches her alone in the shower. We see her briefly naked from the waist up. As you can imagine, it was a few seconds of film I have never forgotten.

I just watched my new Criterion DVD and there is an abrupt cut to the next scene just before Walter opens the door to the shower.

Did someone somewhere decide that the film did not need any gratuitous nudity?

No censorship. Your childhood memory is fuzzy and you got the shower scene mixed up with an earlier scene where Karl watches Barbara getting dressed.

Nonsense. I remember both scenes. Barbara`s dressing scene only showed (and continues to show) side-boob. And my childhood memory is crystal clear. Not only do I remember the scene, I remember one of my older brothers (age 15) turning to the eldest of the four (age 17) and stage-whispering, "Did you see those nipples?!"
