is this film well known? don't reclall ever seeing it.

I seem to have spent half my life watching old British films on tv,usually on BBC 2 on Saturday afternoons,but I am not sure I have ever seen this one.

I can't see why it is not well known,good cast and it sounds like an interesting story.
