Seems like a PSA to parents to listen to their kids

When I first saw this movie on tv the information said, two teens who come from dysfunctional families find comfort in each other..... when I saw the word dysfunction I expected to see an alcoholic parent, maybe some child abuse. The only questionable scene was the dog scene, but even that was light. I have more drama in my life than that. But it really seemed, especially in the scene when they bring the daughter back from the abortion clinic in the woods, that there should have been more communication from not just the parents but from both the son and his parents. It almost changed my view on abortion to be honest. I am usually a pro-choice in circumstances like rape or incest, and pro-life when its just your sole responsibility. But I definitely felt for the girl. The acting in this was superb. I can't imagine this movie being done in the 21st century, because I feel like the innocence is gone.
