Great musical score in film.......

At the start , during the titles, Johnny Mathis sings the song " The Best of Everything" as a plane pans the New York City skyline. This is one of the best beginnings of a 20th Century Fox film from 1959. Joan Crawford did a great job in her part.......

At the tail end of his 20 year tenure as Musical Director at 20th-Fox, Alfred Newman was still delivering the Best in Hollywood for 'The Best of Everything'. He also scored 'The Diary of Anne Frank' the same year. He went freelance for the remaining ten years of his career. He is one of the great phenomenons of Hollywood.

Alfred also worked with Johnny Mathis in 'A Certain Smile' in '58. Another superb Negulesco production with many of the same crew as 'Best'.
