. Is that even kids were killed. The boy at the farm & the little girl on the ferry. That shot of her doll floating in the water after the attack is stark and disturbing.
None of that 'kids making friends with the dinosaur' sap. Very UN-Spielberg.
A few other British films had this - The young boy dying of radiation poisoning in X-THE UNKNOWN.
Added to the scary realism & punctuated the 50's fear of the Atomic Age. No one will be spared.
Good point, watching it now it is hardly noticed but back then it must have really stood out. Behemoth is not fussy, it'll kill anything!!
