The first big foot movie?

There were reports of the ape like creature in the North West during the early fifties and the TV series, "One Step Beyond" did a big foot episode in 1959. "There always was a Native American legend about the supposed critter.

The "Beast From Haunted Cave" seams to follow the Native American view of big foot as a territorial critter who abducts people who invades its living space.

While the creature doesn't look much like popular image of big foot the movie was made eight years before the first pictures of big foot were taken or faked.
