the story is really cool, i think it'd be good to make an 18+ rated remake sci-fi/horror.

we see he can use his powers to move through objects and to drain the energy over time from it, but he only seems to drain people for some reason.

imagine to make it scary where he reaches into someone and pulls their heart out of their chest, or uses his power to drain energy on an object to make things decay and fall apart, like a tank he could make it turn to a big chunk of decaying rust and destroy it etc.

I wouldn't mind a remake if it was well done and as tense as the first but you know they'd just screw it up like the rest of the remakes.

I also like this movie a lot and always thought it could use a remake because of better budgets and special efx. But knowing Hollywood, science will go out the window as well as the rationale behind the story and hide everything behind some lousy CGI.

A remake sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't mind. I wasn't really crazy about the jazz score in the original either. The original also really had no ending.
