Supposed to be in 3-D?

I watched this film for the first time this morning. Some of the shots seemed strangely composed or featured an unusual number of objects hurled at the viewer. There was a ball on a string, for example, that kept swinging towards the screen. Does anyone know if this film was shot in 3-D? If so, why don't the credits reflect this?
