First science fiction movie I ever saw

I was about 5 or 6 when I first saw this movie on "Science Fiction Theater" on WOR in NY. This would have been either 1970 or 1971 and I believe it was shown on a Saturday afternoon.

Before this movie, I never heard the term "science fiction" before. I have heard it a few times since then. :-)

As for the movie, it was one of my favorites and wish they played it more on television than they do.

Its one of my favorites . How old was Patty Duke in this I dont
remember seeing Her it?

She was only 13 at the time.

Might have been mine too. I remember we had a movie on video back in the early 80s (1980-81) and this seems to fit the bill. Was also only 5 or 6 years old at the time. I remember especially the scene where he puts his hand through the guy's chest. Freaked me out, I remember, hehe.

Same here! I know I had at least one nightmare over that scene.
