Dorothy was close to 30 years younger than Lou. He might have pulled it off if he was 10 years younger but not when this was filmed. And even worse it just wasn't funny.

Not realistic to real life; pretty young blondes just don't pursue tubby junkmen on the shady side of fifty. Considering the movie and it's nature though, I can go along with it.
