The Pilot "Where Is Everybody?"

Has anybody had an experience like that guy. I did when I was doing mushrooms. Still don't know what to make of it.

reply

I wish I could have a dream or experience like that. A full day by myself with nobody bothering me would be a delight! LOL

reply

Yeah it's terrifying when you think it's gonna be forever. I'm a really solitary person... I don't like to be around people but being convinced that it's forever is a nightmare.

reply

That's the key, if you think it's going to be forever and that bothers you then you can control the outcome. For me, I'd at the very least enjoy the solitude for several days.

reply

Well demons or other worldly intelligence were speaking to me through my friends and I think they were telling me if I did shrooms a 3rd time it'd be forever. (and by that I actually mean if I did enough to break through for a 3rd time because I've done small doses many times. I only have broken through to some other insanity twice now.) I'm really not 100 percent sure about this... I was drunk as well as high. it almost sounds too insane to be true but I think it was conveyed to me that 3 strikes and I'm out.

the mushrooms or the Episode ?

reply

Possibly the best pilot ever made.

Really? I was surprised the series wasn't cancelled after the pilot!!

reply

What didn't you like?

I think the repeatability mostly. I don't actually recall the first time I saw it, so I concede that maybe on first viewing its impact is sufficient for a pilot. But there are a lot of episodes where the twist is the only really bang the episode offers, and this is one of them in my opinion. The circumstances, the one man dialogue, the performance, etc. was insufficient to make this one repeatable to me after I found out the reason he was alone.

reply

Fair enough.

I once thought I was that guy, then John Wayne was my big brother, and then I was a cop alongside Angie Dickinson.

reply

Sounds like a bad trip that turned into a good one haha.
