My Favourite Actor

In the Entire Series

Jack Klugman

reply

Very versatile in his TZ roles. And he was in four episodes! Same as Burgess Meredith, a personal favorite.

reply

Klugman is an excellent choice. Picking favorite actors is like picking favorite episodes - impossible when there are hundreds! LoL On my list though are William Bendix, Klugman, Bob Cummings, James Gregory and Joanna Linville, to name a very few.

reply

yea, of course they go hand in hand. But the one where he played with the boy at the circus was very memoriable to me. I always liked him in it and I felt his acting was touching. Which is why I picked him as my favorite in the long list of outstanding actors.

reply

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the William Bendix episode. Apparently it was the original pilot.

reply

Aye... Bendix was in "The Time Element," broadcast in November, 1958 as an episode of The Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse.

reply

Agree with you. I also like William Windom and Telly Savalas.

reply

Thank you.

Albert Salmi - Execution and Of Late I Think of Cliffordville

reply

He played an excellent character in that episode.

Good choices all.

I really enjoyed all of Klugman's roles in this series. He walked the line between great acting and over the top, but they are all memorable.

I also enjoyed Burgess Meridith's work in this series.

reply

Yea, maybe. But I never liked subtle and his great passion and ethusiam I really enjoyed and could relate to. Also of course the episodes called for such a performance but sadly not anyone could easily deliver.

I didnt know Winters was so big time. I had remembered him from the Shadow the movie and then read his bio. Impressive. Of course he was good in a Game Of Pool. I just didn’t like it’s conclusion. They were basically saying it’s bad to be obsessively No.1 which I don’t agree.

The only way to be No.1 is to be unhealthy obsessively. I would take advice from the winner not the loser. But that wasn't Rod's take on it because had it been his take he wouldn't had Jesse end up like an unending slave which Fats used to be but was relieve he wasnt anymore and he was also suggesting that is what it took to be No.1 and you shouldn't want to be No.1 because that was the outcome to which a more well rounded individual or life was better and but I couldn't agree because being No.1 is a major accomplishment worth admiring.
