I used to DVR all the TZ episodes as well then got burned out like you. But I'm excited for the marathon. I have been watching it the last 2 years. It's why I begun to DVR them..after the marathon I needed more.

I was gifted the complete original series over the holidays. So far through the first two episodes "Where is Everybody?" and "One for the Angels." Amazing how each one is able to say so much in such few words, actions, and emotions. It gives a real sense of time which is absent in a lot of current TV.

Which is why I plan on taking the time to savor each and every moment of it. (^_^)

My brief note on 'Angels' without spoiling the story too much:

The 'Angels' episode was very touching. The person-of-interest, pitchman Lewis Bookman, is willing to bend the integrity of his word in honoring an agreement about dying, showing that he is not only afraid of his life coming to an end, but also, he believes there should be much more to it.

He must confront the fact life is heavily arbitrary. Even in the smallest sum of the grandest scheme, there is appreciation for things easily taken for granted in the nature of our own existence. We mean a great deal more to people, ourselves, and society than we realize. Reminded me of "It's A Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart.

No, and no subtitles either, which is a shame. Special features are included on a handful of the discs. I do have the DVD version. Your question has me curious as to other stats about the boxset, planning on checking review sites and I'll let you know what I find. The series is also available on Blu-Ray too.

I have the "Definitive Edition" (2004) for each season, and the only extra listed for "Angels" is the radio drama.

I hadn't intended to correct anyone. I just grabbed it off the shelf to see what the extras were. Looking on Amazon, I see that the "definitive" seasons kept coming out over quite a few years, so I'm not sure if the ones after 2004 are the same as mine. I'd like to have all extras available, but unfortunately I don't have a blu-ray player.

About the Blu-Ray player thing, it's nice to have as an extra option to watch movies and shows, especially if you're a quality aficionado willing to shell out the cash. The jump in sound and image quality was not as large a leap as VHS tape to DVD was, so it's not like there's a big need to go out of the way to get one.

The main concern is with 4K making waves now, DVD may look grainy and blurry on the latest 4k tech. It's not like DVD is going anywhere anytime soon thanks to it's low cost to make. Even then, Blu-Ray is finally becoming more affordable to consider in addition to streaming services if looking for convenience.

Decades channel has a five-day, 12 hours each day marathon

We used to have Decades over the air here, but it was taken out of the Phoenix market in September. I'm still waiting for it to find a new home here. So I'm pretty happy that SyFy hasn't given up on it.

I believe MissMargo in another thread stated that there's a yearly annual marathon of The Twilight Zone which SyFy runs around the 4th of July, though I don't think they did it last year.

No, SyFy didn't do it last July, but Decades did. We were used to SyFy having two marathons a year, so last July was disappointing.

I usually watch TZ on MeTV. I think that SyFy edits it differently or speeds up some non-dialogue scenes to compress time. The effect is most noticeable in "Spur of the Moment."

Social media will never compare to a dedicated forum board. I love reading back through comments many years ago, and sometimes finding some from myself almost 10 years ago! I'm glad MC was able to archive many of the old discussions from that now defunct site from whence they came.

When I cut back my cable last year, my Syfy got dropped. I usually watch the episodes on DVD. I notice there aren't any hour-long episodes this year.

Yes, but the only hour long episodes I like are "On Thursday, we leave for home" and "A Passage on the Lady Anne." It is still a bummer since the hour long ones only seem to be aired during marathons.

Those are two of the better ones, Jennie. I like "Printer's Devil", being a big Burgess Meredith fan, but it probably would have worked better without that whiny Jackie Benson character. I also am in the minority in liking "Of Late I Think of Cliffordville". I can watch anything with John Anderson in it and I admit Julie Newmar helps. Albert Salmi was good, despite the terrible make-up.

Completely agree with Printer's Devil and Of Late.. Printer's Devil is one of the best of any season IMO and while I think the story could have been tweaked for Of Late/Cliffordville I still like that one a lot. I also like Valley of the Shadow, Jess-Belle, and On Thursday We Leave for Home.

Can't stand The Bard.

I am always ready for the Big New Years TZ Marathon!
Sadly, I do not have Cable TV so I have no SyFy. Believe it or not, I miss those old days!
The Good News???
I have Decades!!!!! That channel is also planning a TZ Marathon of sorts! FIVE DAYS!!!!!
I doubt that this is NonStop, but if anyone here gets the Decades Channel, check this out.
I'll post the details.
