I just re-watched "Mute" on SyFy this morning. I hadn't seen it in a while, so it was interesting to realize that Frank Overton (the sheriff) was also the father in "Walking Distance" as well as one of the colonists in Star Trek's "This Side of Paradise."

I've always had mixed feelings about this episode because, on the one hand, the telepathy aspect is interesting to me but, on the other hand, I can't stand watching the scenes with the sadistic teacher. The reviews on IMDB are interesting, and most seem to agree that the teacher was over-the-top.

I wouldn't put it in my top episodes, but I think its pretty solid. Its another season four episode that could have benefited from just being a half hour.
