OT: sensation of time phenomena

Have any of you noticed this curious phenomena? It has become especially noticeable now in this new digital world. I can watch a small video and then immediately watch it again. It is amazing to me how, if after seeing a video for the first time, if I then watch it again, the amount of time the thing lasts seems to be cut in half. The time just rushes by the 2nd time I watch it. [I am noticing this because I am getting into watching these old "One Step Beyond" episodes on YouTube, most of which I haven't seen before (they are really pretty good!).] I wonder if anyone has studied this phenomena. I think it is related to something else I noticed. Do you remember how when you were little, the summer vacation between school seemed to last SO long. But now that I am older, time just seems to fly by. I think it all has to do with the fact that, new things you have never experienced before, are not happening very often any more. I think if I were to experience as many new things now as I was experiencing when I was much younger, then time wouldn't seem to fly by the way it does now.

My comment has nothing to do with TZ, but your post reminds me of when you drive somewhere from home and it seems to take a long time to get there, but then when you drive back home the same distance seems much shorter.

Alasdair Wilkins wrote about this in an article entitled "Why does going somewhere always seem to take more time than coming back?"
