printer's devil: mr smith very keened on waitress molly

i've wondered why mr smith was so keen on molly the waitress, could it simply be explained that it was part of the hour long fourth season and it was just dragging on? don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite episodes of the season, and of course with the great reoccurring twilight zone actor burgess meredith, but come to think of it later on he was keen on the editors wife too. in that same season i also found there was something unexplainable going on between horace ford's co worker and laura in "the incredible world of horace ford". by the way, much of the dialogue in "printer's devil" is almost identical to similar scenes in the movie "bedazzled" (2000) especially as they are about to sign the contract.

I always had the impression that Smith in the episode was keen on anything organically female with a pulse and body temp of 98.6, myself. Ever read Beaumont's original story? The full text can be found at http://randomoldpulp.blogspot.com/2015/07/charles-beaumont-devil-you-say-amazing.html

I love how Smith gets his mark to sign over his soul.
