West coast...awake and watching?

Anyone?

reply

I too have "all the drive of a broken camshaft."

reply

I watched the beginning of the first one, but I'm going to bed in order to get up at 6:00 for better episodes.

reply

Me too. "On Thursday We Leave For Home" is on at six followed by "Ring-A-Ding Girl."

reply

Old Ben and Jenny get together? Gross.

reply

Has there ever been an episode of television with more Dutch Angles than "The Howling Man"?

reply

I think I'm going to emulate Walter Bedecker and call someone a "potato pancake" too.

reply

Ok, West Coast. Back again. This is sad. D*** you IMDB...

reply

The grandma in "Long Distance Call" is so evil.

reply

I'm at Nightmare at 20,000 feet!!!!

reply

You watching it online?

reply

Are you on the East Coast?

reply

No, I'm in LA. I have a trial subscription to Sling TV. So they are streaming under EST? Weird!

reply

Missed that one . So far, Robert Redford as Mr. Death has been the most memorable for me. Also liked Lee Marvin as the challenged bounty hunter.

reply

I'd follow Robert Redford anywhere!

reply

I think I would trust him to guide me through the Colorado wilderness. 😉

And I love my Sundance Channel.

reply

He's a great guide! LOL!
I sort of like the idea of him guiding me to the Great Beyond though.

reply

He's certainly preferable to Nan Adam's hitch-hiker.

reply

I agree. If I am going to pick up a hitch hiker it had better be Robert Redford.... or a close facsimile!

reply

Yes, he did make that passage appear very benign.

reply

The Grave always gave me the chills. I still don't think that he was standing in the same place that she was standing while her cloak blew out from the grave.
Her laugh at the end still creeps me out!

reply

The door to Stockton's bomb shelter doesn't like it could withstand Jehovah's Witnesses much less a nuclear blast.

reply

Are you watching The Shelter?
That door looks like it is made out of cheap plywood! Check it out when the neighbors crash through! I couldn't even believe that they were suppose to hear each other through that!

reply

The Doc knew what kind of word we live in, one full of cheap props.

reply

It does have it's problems but I do think it got it's message across. Still a relevant one in fact.

reply

I agree. The Doc says it all when he asks about the real damage that has been caused.

reply

I just like how they played that, too. His depleted state both physically and mentally

reply

Good story though!

reply

The door to Stockton's bomb shelter doesn't like it could withstand Jehovah's Witnesses much less a nuclear blast.

LOL. Well, we know it couldn't withstand being hit with a pipe. Actually, what gets me about the neighbors is the fact that their goal is to make themselves safer, yet they destroy the shelter in the process. Do they think they can put that door back together?

reply

It's a good episode, flimsy bomb shelter notwithstanding.

As the future Grandpa Joe pointed out, a mob doesn't have a brain.

reply

That laugh, the wind, and that fantastic cast. God, what a great episode!

reply

Best of all, it's left up to the viewer to decide what happened.

reply

It's laid out explanation by Cleef and batty ole sis's contradiction. Fear or something beyond the grave? Good stuff. It needs to be seen uncut without interruption.

reply

I don't know what they were thinking with that icky ending.

reply

What episode do you mean?

reply

"Will The Real Martian," "A Kind of Stopwatch," and "Time Enough" all prove that just because a "TZ" starts out light-heartedly doesn't mean it's going to remotely end that way.

reply

Sorry, The Fugitive

reply

Why was that ending even necessary? Yes, it's a fairy tale, and frogs and other animals often turn into princesses in fairy tales, but in this case it would have been much less squirm-inducing if their relationship had remained purely platonic.

Imagine if Elliot and ET had gone off together and in the epilogue they tied the knot? Or better yet, don't.

reply

McNulty's fate is messed up.

reply

Exactly. It just wasn't necessary. It just left a bad taste.

reply

I rather liked it. It's cruel sure, but it's also an ending I didn't see coming, and for a show as old as "TZ" to catch me off-guard is pretty cool.

It was very much like "Will The Real Martian" and "Time Enough" in that it out of nowhere it just suddenly got very, very grim.

reply

"Stopover in a Quiet Town," "Living Doll," "The Dummy," "The After Hours," and "The New Exhibit."
That's quite a nightmarish line-up. And after "A Penny For Your Thoughts" -- which I do like -- it's nice to see a block of really dark "TZ."

reply

Bob and Millie's bickering never gets old.

reply

Hello puplover. I remember you as a late straggler on the deserted board from last summer. I'm still watching but am on the east coast. Yes, it is strange that you follow the same schedule that I do even though you are in California! Maybe that could be the summary of an episode.

reply

Hey TM!!! The strangest thing: I have Sling TV, and for some reason I am getting the East coast schedule. I am now watching the Bard. (Not my fave.) But, Burt Reynolds as Brando!!!

reply

I'm watching "The Bard' too. This is my first viewing of the episode, and I like it. Do you remember me from last year?

reply

Of course I remember you!!!:)

reply

You gonna make it through one more ep?

reply

Absolutely! There are only twenty-five minutes left. I'll stay until the end.

reply

Weird to see "Grandpa Fred" from Sixteen Candles here!!!

reply

For me the end is @5am. Don't think I'll make it.

btw, it's so liberating to type on a site that isn't transmitting every key stroke. It's like having a typewriter again.

reply

Well that's it folks. You guys are incredible: 5am! See ya on New Years:)

reply

the West side is watching a drawn out conversation on wax statues.

reply

Ha ha! Hi, Tbone. Nice to see some familiar names. I bet by NYE we'll have some heavier traffic here.

reply

Yeah it's going to take some time and effort to rebuild this group. I wonder what we can do to help.

reply

Oh, the wax figures again! Those are so creepy! The matter seems scarier since it's almost like the episode has returned to television tonight as you are watching what has disappeared here.

reply

I used to represent the West Coast back in the old boards every now and then. Always behind everybody else, huh? I never minded it. Well, not completely haha.
