End of Marathon Sadness

I know there are still several hrs left but when the marathon ends I always feel sad. Maybe because I know it's back to reality (work) tomorrow.

yep

Yeah, end (or nearing the end) of marathon time is always a bummer. I'll probably be heading off to bed tonight between 11 & midnight, myself...both of us back to work tomorrow.

reply

I always take the week between Christmas and New Year off, my 7 year old just said "Daddy you been watching this show for 2 days"

reply

That is so funny! Sounds like my kids (and hubby). I'm the only one who gets into it.

reply

When i was single...TZ the entire marathon, setting the akarm for ones in the middle of the night, don't go anywhere, etc. Have had to adapt that practice since being married... damn family parties lol

My kids are grown, and I have the DVD set. It's also on Netflix. But I've been glued to the TV almost all weekend. I feel bad that I didn't get more stuff done around the house. I have all the TVs set to the marathon though.

I gave that a name last year. I think it was PTZD (Post Twilight Zone Disorder).

This^^

I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm going to stay up as late as possible. At least there's a name for the disorder!!😉

Quite clever puplover  .

The only cure for this and it worked for me was -

" The Twilight Zone The Complete Definitive Collection "
on DVD or BLU RAY  .

All I can say about this - " Worth every penny ! " 

Totally got rid of " The TZ Blues " for me here  .

I remember making a similar thread last year about this. It's worse for the New Years one because it really marks the end of the holidays and now we just have winter. Back to reality.

So true. Let's enjoy these last few hours.

“Willoughby, sir? That’s Willoughby right outside. It’s July. It’s summer. It’s 1888.”

reply

That's how I feel as well.

reply

I know, right.

It's been really fun! Part of that fun is checking in with total strangers on the boards and having the coolest and most civilized communication ever!

I wish it was like this on all the boards.

Enjoy the last few hours! Back to work for me too tomorrow. So you are not alone my friend.

Happy New Year!!! Wishing you the best in 2017!

reply

@nubyan

I agree....I too wish all boards could be this civil.

reply

I was about to post the same thing. I love the marathons. Time goes by so quickly though, we'll be back here for the July 4th marathon before you know it!

reply

Yuppers:)

reply

Same here.....it's such a depressing feeling. You get all excited about the TZ marathon as well as the excitement of interacting with other TZ fans on this board then it feels like in a matter of minutes, it's all over and the fans retreat from this board and go on their way to venture into the new year and what lies ahead.

Sometimes I wish there was a local TZ fan group here and we'd all get together to watch episodes together and discuss them because not one of my friends or family members enjoys TZ the way I do. It's a sad lonely feeling sometimes.

reply

I know what you mean. Nobody in my personal life watches Twilight Zone. I enjoy coming on here and talking about it.

reply

My hubby watches some with me but I'm the die hard fan....it's awesome having a group of TZ friends!

reply

I'm the only one in my family that likes TZ, my kids say "black & white ? forget it"

reply

@yanyawa: Aww...ditto. Thank goodness my husband is in to it just as much as me, if not more.

It really does feel like TZ fans are the best. At least that has been my experience over the past couple days.

It's been great to disconnect from reality and step into the Twilight Zone.

:)

YES! This right here, and yes, we TZ fans are absolutely the best. It doesn't get better than a marathon and the great camaraderie we all share. 

The further we go and older we grow, the more we know the less we show.

The snooty French Word for it is "ennui"
See definition: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/ennui

Personally I have no reason to keep living when this marathon ends

The 4th of July. Plus if you have ME TV they play an ep of The Twilight Zone every night at 12:30. Complete and uncut. Tonight it's A Game of Pool.
