hmmmmmmmmmmmm.. with the Big Valley, the Wild Wild West, etc. coming out SOON, do ya think there's a slim "glimmer" of hope ??? I LOVEd this show when it was shown as REruns in the 1960's... & Nick Adams, the Rebel, dying at a young age is quite a tragedy...
they do sell them illegally on the internet. Before I knew they were illegal junk (bootleg copies from tv) I ordered them from a guy selling them on ebay. I then learned that he had his own website. I wasn't to happy when I had almost $200 of dvds and most of them did not work. If you find them online and the website (check under "about us" section) says their dvds are region free that is a red flag THE RED FLAG that this person is selling illegal dvds.
The guy I bought mine from had taped the shows from tv. I reported him
Some illegal dvds help fund terrists activities and no matter how much you love the show it is important not to buy from them. The dvd will come out eventually.
Write the company that made this show and tell them you want this show on dvd. Another site to check for legal dvds of tv shows is tvshowsondvd.com
Hello all [Re "The Rebel], It is 2012 now and I have seen "The Rebel" on DVD in www.amazon.com and www.timelessmedia.com and a lot of old westerns, cop dramas (e.g. Naked City, Rawhide, Wagon Train, The Big Valley, Richard Diamond, The Fugitive [the original with David Janssen], etc.).
Currently, "The Rebel" is broadcast on late Saturday and late Sunday mornings on MeTV (Memorable Entertainment TV); 2 half hours, one after the other. [There is also Western Encore, www.retrotv.com & there's always netflix.com.]
The weekend of January 14th and 15th, 2012, one of the 1/2 hours had Johnny Cash as an outlaw in the episode, singing the song "The Rebel". I didn't recognize him because "The Rebel" first aired in 1959 and I was a pre-teen [and but hadn't really heard of Johnny Cash at that point, but I saw him in the credits as singing the theme song.] Later in my teens I picked up on Rock "n Roll and the British Invasion bands, old country came much later (Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, & more].
It is very sad that Nick took rx drugs that didn't mix (contraindications) and died slumped against the wall with all his clothes on (some authorities thought there was an air of conspiracy surrounding his death.) I don't know what the nervous disorder was that he was taking the pills for. I'll hunt around and see what I can find. I'll update on the Message Boards if I find anything out.

IMHO he died accidentally, but his daughter, Allyson, seems to feel differently (murdered). We had quite a heated back-and-forth about it not long ago there, and both of us ended up deleting our posts from the conversation, so I'm not going to repeat any of it here.
All of the major players of "Rebel Without A Cause" did not die of natural causes. Sad but true and I loved all four of them: James Dean, Nick Adams, Sal Mineo and Natalie Wood.
