Mr. Lucky is a harmless guilty pleasure!

So: I caught a couple episodes on Me TV earlier this spring. I was initially taken by the Henri Mancini Score, and the friendship between Lucky and Andamo.

I became taken by this simple formula of the episodes, and the fantasy of watching Mr. Lucky almost always having the upper hand, or soon having it when operating at an opening disadvantage.

John Vivian and Ross Martin are very entertaining in this program. Throw in the girl of the week that pops us most episodes, and Mr. Lucky is a modest winner.

I have memories of my parents having this on the tube, as a youngster, and it's a pleasant trip down memory lane, for the reasons you state. 😄

All I recall of the original series run was being "spooked" by the one-eyed black cat in the opening credits.

Then again, I was all of two years old at the time.

As an adult, I can appreciate the teasing banter of Lucky and Andamo, as well as the humor that leavens even the most serious episodes.

When considered on its own modest terms, it's an amusing and entertaining show.
