I was sad, too, when I heard about his passing. Then his on screen daughter (Patty Duke) passing away the same year. Wow.
He's been in a lot of shows, whether as a main character, minor character, or just a guest spot, he's put himself out there a great deal. He sought to entertain and he did that, much to our benefit. One of the few I believe who were underappreciated over the years.
I agree. We've been watching a lot of old shows on DVD, and darned if he isn't in at least one episode of most of them! He always does a bang-up job, too. And it's not just sit-coms.
