Plot summary for Remember Pearl Harbor

(I was going to submit this as a summary, but realized that I remember only a few details as I was 11 years old at the time.) Some event brings Hennesy and Abby to Oahu. While there, they walk out onto the Arizona memorial. They drop a wreath in the water and discuss their memories of the event. Hennesey recalls that he was 10 years old when he heard the news and ran to find an atlas to see where Pearl Harbor was. It was a more serious episode than others that season without being grim. I do not know if aanyone else remembers this episode or any of the series.

There was one episode where a sailor had his face destroyed in an accident and after plastic surgery he came out looking like Doug McClure, because it was Doug McClure. Now that he looked like a blond God he took advantage, ignoring his plain fiance, and stepped out on the town. When Hennesy upbraids him he replies that he's been ugly all of his life and now that he had a new and pretty face he wanted to at least experience what it was all about before having to be tied town by marriage, which is what he was going to go through with anyway. A nice switch because all along the script had been slanted against him.

There was an episode with Bobby Darin as guest star. Instead of the usual closing theme music, Bobby sang Mack The Knife (keep in mind this was not only before squeeze box promos but also pre-voiceover promos - when you were allowed to hear closing music). Don't remember much about the story (I was only a small child), but I suspect it was similar to his subsequent role in Captain Newman M.D.

But throughout it all, my motto was "Dignity! Always dignity!".
