Could easily be edited into a 30 minute show.

I love Bonanza, but the format of this show is very repetitious. After establishing the dilemma in the first ten minutes, they basically just keep hammering home on that same problem until it's resolved in the last ten minutes. Nothing that happens in the middle ever matters. It's great to watch these characters interact with each other, but this show, I don't think we're watching for the high caliber writing. It was probably different back in the day, but it's especially tedious when watching in binge format. It's a whole lot of people standing around talking in circles.
