Yeah, it's one of the best Bonanza episodes imo. Tears me up every time I see it.

That would be "Gabrielle" a Christmas episode inspired by "Heidi"

The little orphan twins Susie and Kenny in Blessed Are They. The Mahans and the Clarks were feudingover got custody. They were cute little kids.

Loved all of those episodes!

I just saw a later one, entitled "Love Child" (1970), written by Michael Landon.
It's about a woman who had a child out-of-wedlock (her parents are neighbors of the Cartwrights), who finds out she has just a few months to live (leukemia, I think). The boy who plays her son is one of the most adorable little guys i remember from that time - he was really a gem. It was such a sad episode, yet uplifting at the same time.

I couldn't warm up to Mitch Vogel as Jaime, but when he played Tommy in The Real People of Muddy Creek, he was a cute little tyke.

Feet of Clay, Season 1, Episode 30.

Billy's mother dies but his father is in prison. The Cartrights take him in until his Uncle can come fetch him. The boy develops a special friendship with Hoss.
