Yes, a good movie. I watched it when I was boy, it played on TV for a week and I watched it as often as I could. There was one scene where an improbable looking movie projector, after showing a naval battle, starts on fire. The host, as the projectionist is trying to fan out the flames, says to his guest something like "The machine is broken." Very humorous.

I agree Xc. It is a good movie though not great but certainly worth seeing.

I saw it in the theater with my dad in 1958 and would love to see it again on DVD.

If nothing else it was very different

I recall seeing this in the early 1960s anyway does anyone recall the circus film
that was a co-feature to this one?

vpilutis -- I don't know the circus movie that played as a second feature to TFWOJV, but as a guess, if it was 1961, could it have been The Big Show, with Esther Williams, Cliff Robertson, Robert Vaughn and Nehemiah Persoff? It's about family squabbles in a European circus, but isn't very good. Off hand it's the only circus picture I can think of that came out the year Verne was released theatrically in the States.

The Fabulous World of Jules Verne, in my opinion, lies somewhere between good and great. It's so unique that it's hard to rate against other fantasy films. As you say, if nothing else it's very different. Highly imaginative and enjoyable.

it's certainly memorable, there are sequences which you wont easily forget after seeing it

that's a very good characteristic for a movie to have

so many movies, so little time
