Forrest Tucker's performance

Seems like most of the time men are so stoic in horror flicks---I was surprised when Brooks covered his face, and in one scene even looked like he was going to hurl!

It's not one of his best roles, that's true, bit of a walkthrough here. Mitchell's professor (yes, that's really Cogney bigot Alf from TV's Till Death Do Us Part) remarks to him he hasn't changed, to me he looks very thin. Anyway, maybe the way Payne looked at him made him uncomfortable, sometimes actors want to find their co-star's eyes while the other party doesn't always. Talk about crawling eyes. An actor like Kenneth More didn't seem to like much eye contact either, by the way.

Oh, I wasn't criticising his performance. It was just a surprise in comparison to the way you usually see the scientist-hero portrayed in films of this ilk.

After saving the little child (the less said about her performance the better) he seems way too cool, not even making mention of the creature to the others once he rejoins them. Perhaps it was to kep them from going into a panic, but he does not seem strained at all.

I like this picture very much for many reasons, incuding Tucker's otherwise fine performance, however it all seems a little rushed to me. I suppose that was due to a limited budget.

I really like Tucker in this. He's usually way too ebullient for me, but I think his performance here is very likeable believable, especially for a creature feature.

Not one of his more comfortable acting jobs. Did a ton of smoking in which later years was to kill him dead! F-Troop! Now that's was his spike on the wall! Enjoyed every minute of it!
By the way...I watch THE CRAWLING EYE every chance I get. Fun flick to be sure.

He was a pretty good actor as evidenced in The Abominable Snowman(1956).0

I think he did a good job here. Peter's performance was also noteworthy.
