The silliest film ever but I love it!

I first saw this film in '64 or '65 and even as a child, thought it was absurd!
-Yet I liked it and still do, and I don't know why.
Bad acting, cheesy production values, yet this film has something that you can't pinpoint, it's a personal favorite!
Part of what makes it click for me is Jack (The Munsters)Marshall's music. The whole film takes on a fantasy/comedic spin in no small part to Jack's zany soundtrack. I posted a comment about the music ages ago and no one seemed to get it.
I can't take it seriously for a second, but it's so much fun, who cares?
This film is an enigma, you either love it or you hate it.

It was Mitchum's baby all the way. If he were alive today, he would take credit or blame for it I'm sure. He really had to promote to get it done. I guess it would have turned out better but he was early in his career and may have bit off more than he could 'chew' properly, huh?

Guns kill people, just like Spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.

Not exactly "early"--he'd been in movies since 1943.

True enough, but although he began writing even before he was very serious about acting, this was the first real full fledged production that was mostly his I think. I am reading his bio 'Baby I don't care' right now so maybe I will learn more.

Hey, I'm reading that now, too!

Amazing. I bought mine for 1 cent plus $3.99 shipping.... Lol Hardcover

Yeah I like this movie a lot, I've seen it few times.
