I am watching Ten North Frederick on Fox Movie Channel right now.
Gary Cooper said he felt miscast and I kind of agree. This is a role I felt was more suited to Ray Milland or Henry Fonda.
It is a very interesting and entertaining film.
Actually, I really liked Gary Cooper in this role. But, I agree that Henry Fonda would have also been a good choice. They both had a wonderful masculine sophistication. You could definitely see a younger woman falling in love with either of them. I definitely think Spencer Tracy would have been mis-cast because he wasn't upper crust enough and because by 1958, he was showing a lot of wear.
