Air Marshall Attire

A federali finds the flight the terror asset is on and gets onboard. His suit and tie is the same bascially as all the other men on the flight. What do they wear today? Athletic gear, cutoff shorts, and flip flops. Otherwise, the marshall would stick out like a sore thumb!

It was definitely a different period when people dressed up to fly. I don't know why they did it. It must have been a culture thing. Overall, it was a good thing to do and we have lost that part of pride in ourselves.

I am reminded of a story that I heard from the sixties and I am sure I will be corrected by those closer to the subject than me but that is alright. During the Hoover era of the FBI, he insisted that the agents always wear a suit and tie and keep their hair short and (I think) no facial hair was allowed. I guess there were few times the rules were not strictly enforced. Some agents were supposed to "infiltrate" an antiwar demonstration and unfortunately they stuck out like sore thumbs since they were probably the only ones there in suits and short haircuts. So much for infiltrating. Back to the drawing board?
