'Show of Shows' Crowd Cult Film

This movie was a cult film favorite of the TV 'Show of Shows' crowd (Sid Caesar, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner etc.) They went to see it over and over again. They would constantly reference bits from the movie to each other. There is a whole philosophy of life in this film (as well as a philosophy of comedy). The whole 'caper' ended up netting the crooks nothing except a pot of good pasta... and what is exquisitely human and funny is that they enjoy the pasta! All the deep films about the meaning of life seldom come as close to giving answers as does this film.
