Kenneth More

This movie barely works.

But Kenneth More is HILARIOUS! His wide-eyed reactions, his cheery acceptance of all situations, his delivery. Almost everything that's funny in this movie revolves around More's performance.

(At a distance, More looks a little bit like Joel McCrea. I wonder if that was intentional?)

Some of the songs are bad enough to be amusing. Almost as if they were written to be bad on purpose, like some of the songs in A Mighty Wind.

As usual, Jayne Mansfield is easy on the eyes. She's OK as an actress.

This movie's actually pretty good.

Janet! Donkeys!

More always seemed to play the mild mannered English gent throughout his career and he was an expert with comedy. A legendary British actor. Joel McCrea! Mmm. Thinking about it there was a bit of Joel there from a distance. Certainly more like Joel McCrea than Randolph Scott LOL. Mansfield was lovely and I thought the Valley Of Love scene rather sweet. William (Cannonball) Campbell was great as a baddie. Entertaining movie as are most Raoul Walsh films.

More made the movie better than it should be.
