Question regarding end with Ann/Tom

It seemed to me, that dispite the manipulation, Ann showed vulnarablity. That seemed to please Tom, so it appeared to me, they are going to give it another chance.

Am I wrong?

I am pretty sure they end up going back to New York together; he realizes Ann is much more vunerable, especially as she gets older and her looks can not be relied on anymore.

Wow, almost a year later, but i finally got a response:) By a Rita hayworth fan no less.

Thanks. Seems we see it the same way. To be honest, thats what i hoped was the filmakers intentions. I thought she deserved a second chance.

Are you sure you want to be a nightclub comic?

reply

I agree with both of you. However, I did also end the movie thinking, "Why did She go back?" I mean he went to prison because he nearly killed her and yet she wants to go back to him. Even when he hit her the night before. I guess I understand it was what she's done that makes him act that way. Lying, keeping "things" from him and so on. But I felt it went both ways and I thought it was good he went back to her, but was it all that smart for her?

Well her looks as a young woman. I guess it's tough for those women to transition.
