This movie was on Mystery Science Theater 3000

I first saw this movie on Mystery Science Theater 3000, just recently I bought a pack of old horror movies for 30 dollars and it had 50 movies in it including Night of the Living Dead, the original House on haunted hill, and the original Phantom of the Opera, and this movie is one of the movies in the pack.

reply

Wow where did you find that? Sounds like a deal.

reply

I bought that same pack of movies for just $15 :D Divided the cost up among friends too, so it was really just $3 for me.

The Screaming Skull episode of MST3K was actually the last one aired of this classic TV show. I remeber near the end of MST3k's run, it felt like they only had 7 episodes they aired.

Here is hoping that MST3k Will Return soon, during times like these, we need this show most of all.

reply

This was one of the funniest MST3K episodes ever and I can't believe no one has unleashed a heap of their favorite quotes on this site. The part where Mickey is in the greenhouse gathering up clay pots in his arms and dropping most of them and Crow yells out in complete exasperation, "GET A BOX!" Classic. Gets me every time.

reply

Haha I love the part where the skulls shows up at the door and, i don't know who says it "We need to talk about a certain me throwing incident." After the skull was thrown out the window. I cracked up for probably a full minute.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

reply

It was a rainy night..(and I shot her)
She was walking down the steps...(and Mickey shot her)
The leaves were slippery(and a lion jumped out and shot her, at least thats what mickey said.)

Or, when Mickey peeks around the window for the first time, one of them goes CLAPTON!

Or, "So they decided to look for mickey in his villa on the south of France."

that was my favorite episode.

"Mickey's really leading Eric away from his eggs."

Or how about that 'idiot' noise they make when Mickey's running down the path? LOL

My faves:

(Mickey makes his first appearance)
Mike Nelson: Ugh, haven't people wisened up to hiring guys like this?
Crow: Come on Mike, how is he any different than you? Really?

"Are you stuck movie lady? Do you need a push?"

"Good thing she could see that with her remote camera attached to the flexible hose."

(Husband running with wet shoes) "Shpork shpork shpork shpork..."

The Wife: Poor Mickey.
Tom Servo: He's so fine he blows my mind. Poor Mickey.

"Friends are visiting...from Hell."

Mike and the bots think Mickey sounds like Snagglepuss:

Mickey: She cries in the night
The wife: Dead people don't cry Mickey.
Mickey: No, I heard her
Servo: *Observed* her even!

Mickey: No. Make them leave. Make them go away
Servo: Exit, stage left!

The Wife: Hello Mickey!
Mike Nelson: Ja. Bonjour my sweet.

My fave unaltered line:
The Husband: I forbid you to talk about this.

The whole scene when she's reading in bed and explains the book to him.

If anyone's ever seen the Blink-182 video for their song "Miss You" you will see many visual similarities to The Screaming Skull.

Yes,
the rug really did tie the room together for that scene of the skull knocking/rapping at the front door. I always wondered why that rug was placed in the room, I guess for that scene.

MST3k I make junk like this seem like a classic. Episode was funny and usual.

reply

Thanks for reminding me of this great MST3K episode. I laughed so hard when I watched it, I almost wet myself.

reply

While the phrase get a box is good, I think I would rather go for the jab "Look he's growing pot"

reply

Crow: GET A BOX!!!

reply

No it wasn't. It's not even in the last season of the show.

"And what would a note say, Dan? 'Cat dead, details later'?"

reply

The movie might have been scary to people back then, but it really doesn't hold up. I just got done with the MST3K episode, I loved it.

"More skulls arrive in a cab"

reply

YAY. "What does Mickey dooo?"

"And what would a note say, Dan? 'Cat dead, details later'?"

reply

The movie that dares to show you people seeing peacocks and then not seeing peacocks.

Err what was I doing? Oh yes, titilating the audience.

Now that is a power bra! I mean its got underwiring, overwiring...

reply

Yes, but it was the last episode aired before Sci-fi stopped showing repeats. they aren't saying this was the final episode.

Ten, nine, eight, and all that!

reply

If you check the order of the episodes you will find that after this episode there are 13 other episodes. the "official" last episode is called "Diabolik".

reply

"I uh... see you've got a new stain on your jacket..."

"Good riddence, ya stinkin' atheist!"

"... anyway, how are you?"

I recall the version on MST3K was different than the MPG I found online... had some extra "flying skull" effects near the end.
