This was a neat little noir thriller with a few red-herrings, surprisingly suggestive and daring for its time, but did anyone else find the ending to be a complete muddle?

The ending was not what I expected so I watched it twice to make sure I understood what was going on.

I was OK with the ending. After it had sunk in where the Screaming Mimi statuette had been found just before the twist finale.
