Did anyone notice Clark Gable's head exhibit a very slight tremor a couple of times? Something on the order of Katharine Hepburn's affliction although much much subtler and extremely brief. I noticed it way before his accident in the torpedo room.
shareHis (possibly booze-induced?) shakes were more than slightly apparent in the scene where Lancaster's character confronts him over his questionable command decisions, at around 42 minutes into the movie.

shareAccording to a bio I read about Gable, the shakes were the results of diet pills he would use to crash diet before filming. The diet pills of the time were basically speed.

I noticed that right at the start of the movie, he was clearly not well at the time.
