Twilight Time release 1/17/12: but Blu-ray only

Twilight Time, which has been issuing unreleased films from 20th Century Fox for the past year, is releasing The Roots of Heaven on January 17, 2012 -- the film's first-ever release on home video.

Unfortunately, beginning in December 2011, TT has decided to release all its films on Blu-ray only, with no standard DVD. Prior to their December release of Rapture, all of TT's Fox films were released only on DVD, except for The Egyptian, which was released in both formats. While many people prefer Blu-ray, I object to not being given a choice, especially as DVD is less expensive, perfectly acceptable and more widely available, and doesn't require a new player. (Twilight had previously begun releasing some Columbia films on Blu-ray only, but each of these is already available on DVD from Sony.)

In any case, the film will be released on January 17, 2012, in a limited edition of 3000 copies, and is available exclusively from SAE (screenarchives.com). Price is $29.99. As usual with TT's releases, there are no extras except for the isolated score track.
