A nice treat for horror fans.

An entertaining rehash of "Dracula" meets Alfred Hitchcock's "Shadow of a Doubt".
I first saw this when I was 9 years of age and remember how frightening it was for me as a child, the music/score of the film made it that much more intense. Thereafter it was one of the more popular films shown on creature features/ Chiller Theater for those of you who are old enough to recall. Yet a little after the 70's it's been all but forgotten and undeservedly so. I've just been able to watch it on net flix and can honestly say although not quite as creepy as it once was it still holds up today with some jarring moments which will startle many.
What makes this film work is the use of black and white, the score and the actors who are all likeable save the protagonist creepily played by Francis Lederer. Norma Eberhardt, a lovely, charming and very competent actress plays the damsel in distress. For those of you who enjoy those wonderful 1950's old fashioned horror films, treat yourselves to it, you won't be dissapointed. Hopefully it will find a new audience and receive the appreciation it deserves.
