DVD now available directly from Warner Home Video!

Warner has made this film available via their Manufacture On Demand DVD process:

Can someone explain what this is? Do you get a factory pressed disc for $20 or is it just a DVD-R?

I'm pretty sure it's a DVD-R in a standard DVD case.

Unrestored picture - TCM quality, DVD-R - in dvd case with printed cover
but it's anamorphic which is a nice change

Is the DVD-R letterboxed with the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio, or is it "enhanced for 16:9 TVs," i.e. the edges of the picture are cut off?

It's enhanced for wide-screen 16:9 TVs and it's letterboxed appropriately to show off the 2.35 aspect ratio. They've used a pretty good print as well. Go for it. you wont' be disappointed.

I just finished watching it on TCM and the color and clarity are remarkable. Hope the DVD is as good.
