Just viewed this on TCM today....it's finishing up as I type. Certainly seen this before and it is surely a classic.

The scene where Will finishes a written test and is told by the Sergeants to sit down and not move.....the fellow he is sitting next to, while he starts to roll a cig, looks quite a bit like, almost exactly like Johnny Cash.

I went back and checked my recording of this. While there is a certain resemblance, I'm pretty sure it's not him. The profile is quite different, and while his face is similar, it is missing that characteristic scar on the right side. Johnny Cash got that scar at an early age.

Nobody gets to be a cowboy forever.
