'Work for food'
I'm confused about the part when padre Nazario was offered to work for food, but then someone (seemingly) told him something and he just left. What was the matter there? And why the fight between the workers and the supervisor?
shareSome of the workers felt that Nazarin was scabbing other workers who needed the money by working just for his food. They felt he was undercutting them and others who needed paid work.
