Travelers in Missouri and Arkansas

Some people try to learn something new every day.

Ever since some time during the previous millennnium, I have been vaguely aware of the existance of a book and/or movie called something like The Missouri Traveler, The Arkansas Traveler, or The Arkansaw Bear .

Yesterday, (Sunday Sept. 12, 2021), researching the film career of Brandon deWilde, I found out that he was in a movie called The Missouri Traveler (1958). And the movie is based on the novel The Missouri Traveler by John Burress.

I also found out that there is a song called "The Arkansas Traveler",which was first published in 1847, and one version of which is the state historic song of Arkansas.

There is also a movie called The Arkansas Traveler (1938).

Albert Bigelow Paine (1861-1937) also wrote a couple of childen's books titled The Arkansaw Bear (1898) and Elsie and the Arkansaw Bear (1939).

And it is said that Paine wrote a version of the song "The Arkansas Traveler" and published it in The Arkansaw Bear (1898).

So as it turns out, I wasn't having trouble remembering the correct title of one book or movie. Instead The Missouri Traveler, "The Arkansas Traveler", and The Arkansaw Bear are three separate titles of different books, movies, and a song.
