Anyone know Cecil Combs relationship to this movie? I know he was there in Jamestown on location as I got his autograph, along with Gary Cooper's, Julie London's, and Arthur O'Connell's.
By-the-way, he was quite a hand with a lariat as I remember him roping me everytime I tried to leave. Quite an experience for an 8-year old.
No idea as to the answer to your question, but I've been in awe of Gary Cooper for the last 50 years (I'm a couple of years older than you) and just wanted to respond to someone who had actually met him.
Sigh.
Sadly, Coop was ill during the making of this film. It's obvious he already has the cancer that would kill him in 2 years. Notice how old he appears and how fragile, especially in the fight scene with Jack Lord. He also appears to be laboring for breath quite often. Still, an "old" Gary Cooper is still preferable to 99.9% of 21 year old men!
