Only one thing I didn't like about this......

Billie was a singer in the movie, and was played by the beautiful & talented singer, Julie London. Why oh why, didn't she sing in this?! I've been on a Julie London kick, which is what led me to this film, and kept hoping she'd sing but she never did, which did make me wonder why she was cast in this.....

That is my only complaint though - I'm so glad I discovered this movie as it was incredibly interesting & I really liked it. Certain things about it reminded me of Unforgiven, so that's interesting to know that was inspired by this film. Also reminded me of MacKenna's Gold. I love westerns, but a lot of them kinda fade into the genre with the rest, this one really stood out to me, and made me fall in love w/ Gary Cooper - had seen him in other films before, and hadn't given him much thought, but wow - he was great, and I think so much more handsome here than even when he was young!

Coop is really the MAN in westerns. He is to westerns what Fred Astaire is to musicals. He was always incredibly handsome, but his face got a more serious, somber, attractive tone as he aged. I love young Coop and old Coop.

I don't think they had London sing because, frankly, it would have seemed ridiculous in the film. Singing would have tainted the film's reality. I'm not really sure why she was cast, but she was great in the part.

This video was just uploaded onto YouTube. It's Julie London singing the title song!

Wow! Thanks for the link to the song - I love it! Would've been great if they would've played it at the movie's end.....

She was cast for her awe-inspiring rack.

Umm... SING? Yeah, I'm sure it would have been awesome and most appropriate if characters had broken into a song every once in a while. Maybe do a little dance number, too, while they're at it.
