An eerie movie

This William Castle production has all the ingredients of an eerie movie - the funeral parlour with the clock, the coffins, the cemetery, the darkness, the rain and above all the creepy music. I was intrigued by the idea of a funeral at midnight.

That sounds like fun. I don't guess I've ever seen this movie, I thought I had seen 'em all on Saturday afternoon and late night television.

I'll watch out for it. I know it is available on DVD as I've seen it on e-Bay. I'll see about finding one locally.

I have just seen your note - I obtained this on ibuy. I'd appreciate your comments as and when you see this movie.

Excellent comments! I too thought this and viewing it made me feel uneasy I have an off air (VHS) copy. Several press stills I have show the attendees of the Funeral at night staring into the unearthed coffin-deliciously spooky!!

I have just read your note - I see that you appreciate good horror movies. Do you know THE MASK OF SATAN and ISLE OF THE DEAD? I'm pretty sure you would enjoy these movies also.

Well, it does have the ingredients - too bad most of the actual film consists of characters sort of absent mindedly meandering about and engaging in empty rhetoric while the clock is supposedly ticking. It's very light on effective scares or mood as well and the acting's even worse than in other Castle films I've seen (William Prince being the exception here).

the funeral parlour with the clock,

A flashing neon clock, no less, to produce that "cheap apartment in a film noir" effect that's just the sort of thing you look for in a funeral home. :-)

Yeah it had all the visual elements. Too bad the story sucked.
