The Lost Missile DVD -- UPDATED

If anyone's looking for this rarity it's available from Sinister Cinema (sinistercinema.com) in a decent print. (See UPDATE below!)

SciFi Station (scifistation.com) also carries THE LOST MISSILE on DVD. Haven't seen their copy so can't vouch for its quality but it is on their website. If someone does order it, please advise!

UPDATE (12/18/07). After posting several back-and-forth updates on the availability of TLM at Sinister Cinema, I decided to clear the board and make a general advisory. As the next poster indicated months ago, Sinister Cinema had dropped this film from their catalogue. However, it was subsequently brought back, dropped, then brought back again. At present (Dec. 2007) it's again available, but apparently will be withdrawn after Christmas. Whether it'll be made available yet again is anybody's guess. Check their site periodically, or try the SciFi Station print, where it appears to always be available.

Sorry - beg to differ - but your source did not have anything like it....maybe they dropped it....

Well as of today (I just checked!) "The Lost Missile" IS BACK on the Sinister Cinema website so get it while it's hot before they decide to pull it again! I got me my DVD-R copy back in '05 (as a birthday gift no less!) so I'm sittin pretty!!

reply

Yes, they periodically bring this and some other "pulled" titles for their sales. I also found that you may be able to get it by phoning and speaking to them directly. But why this and some other titles (e.g., The Magnetic Monster) are off-and-on again in their listings is a bit of a mystery.

reply

Hmmm...Good question! Maybe copyright B.S. drama too! Oh well, I also jumped & grabbed "The Magnetic Monster" back in 2007 when they offered it too. I'm also hoping & praying that they're gonna offer "Gog" reel soon so I can upgrade from my fuzzy DVD-R copy from Resurrection Video (Now defunct E-Bay dealer) cause frankly I've given up waiting on a legit factory copy or Warner Archives burned disk!

reply

Mind reader! I just had an exchange yesterday about both Gog and its companion piece Riders to the Stars, and whether either of these might one day be issued by SinCin. They were available from SciFi Station (which still offers The Lost Missile), from whom I've never ordered, but when I finally decided to take the plunge last fall, found that they'd both been pulled (along with War of the Satellites!). I have an off-the-air tape of Riders but not Gog but would settle for at least a good DVD-R of both.

Warner doesn't control United Artists releases so they'll never put out any of Ivan Tors's "classic" sci-fi films (including Magnetic Monster). These films would be logical releases from the MGM Midnite Movies series, which (probably) does control them, but that line seems to have been halted. I don't know why SC hasn't been able (or chosen to) get either of these films for its releases. Their new catalogue comes out in a couple of weeks but early indications are they once again certainly won't be included. Someone told me they are available in pretty good prints from a site called Video Screamers, but I hadn't heard of or checked the site out yet.
