Similarities to BULLIT (1968)

San Francisco location, police procedural to get to the bottom of an apparent mob related murder, visits to drab urban tenement style rooms for evidence, a citywide manhunt for brutally efficient unknown hitman type killers, a visit to the morgue, and a pretty harrowing car chase. One of the nice differences is in THE LINEUP the cops are all squares where in BULLITT its the mob guys who look all uptight. Its kind of like BULLIT is sort of an upping of the ante in the glam department.
