Joy Harmon

I have seen this little picture twice on television. The last time being a few days ago in the morning on Antenna TV (WPIX). I have been struck both times by the short appearance of Joy Harmon as a girl Julius LaRosa picks up in a bar. There is something in the way she plays this girl that makes you feel sorry for her. A certain sensitivity under the surface of what on paper was surely your typical 50's style "tramp", it's almost as though the girl doesn't want to be cheap, only loved and doesn't know how. It gets me every time I see it, and is a testimony to Ms. Harmon's talent to invest more in what is less.
