Scene in Ryoanji?

Does anyone know if the final scene with Tahei and Matakishi kneeling before Yukihime takes place at the rock garden in Ryoanji temple in Kyoto? It looks just like it, but the idea of anyone (let alone these characters) actually setting foot in the rock garden there seems off to me. Perhaps the juxtaposition of the duo and this pristine location was meant to be the icing on the cake. It's funny like someone wading across the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial, I guess (hey, this was 1958 after all).
